The Smokin’ Gentleman is more than a brand; it is the culmination of a rich family heritage, woven from the threads of two storied lineages - the LaVopa and Damiano families. In 1959 Fred Damiano, a knitter, along with his wife Elizabeth started Bee’s Sweater shop in Northport,NY making custom sweaters, hats and other accessories. In the late 70’s Michael’s parents expanded the business maintaining a high degree of quality and craftsmanship.

Each generation has added its own unique touch, creating a legacy of style, resilience, and distinguished quality that Michael now carries forward in his haberdashery.
